I consider my mans space special even though its small and has no privacy. It’s a small alcove 3 feet by 5 feet. I am envious of my friends who have these man caves, man dens. Lets face it I am envious of everyone who man's space is bigger than mine.

What is the meaning of the words mans cave? I looked up the words in the dictionary:

A room, space, corner or area of a dwelling that is specifically reserved for a male person to be in a solitary condition, away from the rest of the household in order to work, play, involve himself in certain hobbies, activities without interruption. The male that uses it without interference from any female influence usually decorates this area.

For the intellect it could be the ultimate office space filled with books, video games, computers. For the mechanic it could be the workshop for cars, motorbikes. For the artist it could be the painter, sculpture, and pottery. For the Sportsman it could be hunting, fishing, climbing
However we use it, it is the sanctuary for man to have his own space. Away from responsibilities, stress, it is our emotional sanctuary.

In a perfect world I would have my lazyboy in front of a 72'' flat screen TV. Streaming movies from my computer. A warm fireplace with a fridge filled with all the elixirs of life. Including a pinball game machine next to the table tennis table or pool table or why not all. Including a stereo system that would have the ultimate surround sound available. Walls covered in trophy photos of the big one. Cabinets of fishing rods and reels……………….

Alas though in the real world I have my mans corner
